Dodgers win lightning-shortened affair with Rochester

WEBSTER, N.Y. — Hornell’s Dodgers started fast Wednesday night, and that proved crucial as storms cut short their game against the Rochester Ridgemen.

The Dodgers scored three runs in the first inning, and that was the margin of victory, as they took home a 5-2 victory over  Rochester in a six-inning New York Collegiate Baseball League game at Basket Road Field that was shortened by Mother Nature’s wrath.

Jacob Bass (Newberry), Jimmy Latona (Mercyhurst) and Brock Eissman (Vanguard) each recorded a single in the top of the first, and all three scored to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead.
